In 2013, StopTech earned full ISO/TS 16949:2009 Quality Management System certification for the design and manufacture of automotive brake systems and components, allowing the company to supply OEM vehicle assembly plants directly in a Tier 1 relationship. In 2016, two Centric divisions earned extensions of their ISO/TS certifications, further demonstrating Centric’s commitment to excellence. The StopTech high performance and racing brand has earned a renewal of its ISO9001-TS16949 Quality Management System certification at its plant in Compton, California, while the Qualis division has earned a renewal of its ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System certification at its Customer Service and Distribution Center in Hebron, Kentucky. Additionally, StopTech has earned four patents for its advanced technology.

The ability to absorb and dissipate heat is essential to brake system performance. StopTech incorporates several patented design innovations to improve rotor airflow, cooling and heat capacity. This translates into greater resistance to brake fade, faster recovery from temperature spikes generated by aggressive braking maneuvers, reduced pad wear and significantly increased rotor life.

The patented AeroRotor® features curved vanes with innovations on leading and trailing edges. The uniquely designed vanes inside the disc optimize airflow through the rotor. This improved directional design minimizes turbulence and flows more air than any other rotor tested. The result is up to 80 percent better airflow than some original equipment rotors and 10-30 percent better airflow than other currently available directional vaned racing rotors.

Air channels widen at the trailing edge of the cooling vanes. This allows more space for heated air to expand and therefore, more flow. The curved leading edge of the cooling vane facilitates flow into air channels and the "airfoil" shape increases airflow speed and keeps air attached to vane walls to draw off more heat. Improved airflow decreases brake fade, extends rotor and pad life and increases performance.

Outer rotor faces run hotter. To solve this problem the patented StopTech AeroHat®has directional stand-offs between the rotor and the mounting hat that increase airflow to the outside of the rotor surface by 50-100 percent. The StopTech Aerohat improves overall brake system airflow by up to 4 percent.

Using finite element analysis (FEA) modeling software, StopTech has designed a bolt-in bridge which is strong enough to virtually eliminate caliper distortion without sacrificing cooling through the top of the caliper. StopTech calipers have the least amount of flex of any tested aftermarket or original equipment brake caliper. Reduced caliper flex improves pedal feel under extreme braking conditions.

Stiffer calipers mean better performance and feel. Fully forged StopTech 2-piece calipers have the lowest amount of flex and deflection among 25 of the leading caliper models (including some monoblock designs) from well-known manufacturers.

Stiffer calipers improve stopping performance, reduce noise, vibration and pad taper. The air channel in the bridge is specifically designed to promote airflow through the retainer, resulting in enhanced cooling. Competitor caliper designs feature fixed bridges requiring removal of the caliper to change brake pads. StopTech's bolt-in bridge allows changing pads without disturbing the caliper mounting.

Thermal expansion bushing that significantly reduces compression slot expansion.

Brake pistons and piston noses designed to significantly reduce the amount of thermal energy that is transfered to the brake fluid and caliper.
