REPORTS TO: Divisional FP&A Leadership / Partners closely with Product Management

SUMMARY:

The Pricing Analyst is a position that plays a key role in providing leadership regarding pricing strategies to balance customer price and value perception while maximizing the margin and profitability for the business. Plays an integral part in developing & managing customer net pricing programs, including discounts and rebates, as well as sku level impacts to legacy and new pricing strategies, while taking into account the competitive business landscape. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partners with Product Management, Sales and Finance on the development and delivery of pricing and profitability programs that translate into margin improvement. Continued management and evaluation of these programs over time with analysis of impacts to EBITDA.
Provides consultative support to the FP&A and sales organizations when deals are being evaluated to determine terms, discounts, rebates and pricing approaches for both customer specific and buying groups.
Develop collaborative process with sales to centralize, summarize, adequately document and execute pricing programs while documenting changes and impacts to EBITDA value in current year and proforma for future
Participate in the development of the sales budget and reforecast on an annual basis
Develop pricing review process in collaboration with product management, incorporating gross to net impacts at sku/customer mix level.
Strong quantitative and analytic skills and ability to lead analysis involving pricing elasticity, scale curves and promotional economics.
Partners with product development to price new products which drive market pricing.
Leverages available internal and external market information, while considering market research, customer behaviors and the competitive landscape to innovate and enhance pricing strategies.
Monitor cost and raw material fluctuations to identify actionable opportunities and make recommendations for optimal financial performance.
Assess ongoing performance of pricing strategies and programs.
Catalogs special agreements with existing customers to ensure cross functional selling opportunity pricing is leveraged appropriately
Directs the development and adherence to pricing guidance, governance and tools, inclusive of equipping the sales team to evaluate business opportunities.
May be engaged in acquisition projects either in due diligence or while integrating new businesses into the APC pricing model.
Perform other duties, special projects and activities as required

EXPERIENCE, EXPERTISE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Economics. MBA or Masters desired.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial analysis, data modeling and pricing/revenue management.
Experience in aftermarket and/or automotive highly desired.
Strong proficiency in financial modeling, experience developing and using pricing models and analytics to drive strategic decision making.
Superior Excel knowledge and ability to manipulate data. Experience conducting analysis on large data sets. Power Pivot, Power BI experience highly desired.
Understanding of go to market business models and setting price of new products.
Superior communication and presentation skills are required.
Demonstrated consultative skills and experience balancing strategy and execution.
Excellent collaboration skills and ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional setting including finance, FP&A, sales, product management and operations.
Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to present complex ideas to senior management and to adjust communications as appropriate for other audiences
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.
