2010 A SUCCESS FOR LEADING BRAKE COMPANY CENTRIC PARTS
LOS ANGELES (January 2011) – Centric Parts, a leading manufacturer and supplier of aftermarket brake components and systems for import and domestic cars as well as light and medium trucks in all driving situations, is rolling into the New Year after a very successful 2010.
"Not only was 2010 the tenth anniversary for Centric Parts, it was also a watershed year for the company as it expanded into new directions while building on our core businesses," notes Dan Lelchuk, President of Centric Parts. "As always, our focus remained on giving our distributors a clear advantage in the market, supported by our Right Part, Right Place, Right Time policy."
One such new direction was the launch of a comprehensive clutch program and catalog with a complete range of Centric Parts clutch sets, flywheels, clutch cables, hoses and hydraulics including a substantial range of pre-filled assemblies. The year also saw the Centric Parts wheel bearing and seal program get up to speed, adding yet another non-braking related product to the company lineup that exhibits the company's long standing dedication to durability, quality and performance in the automotive aftermarket.
The company also firmly established itself as having the most comprehensive brake program available in the automotive aftermarket. StopTech, the ultra performance pision of Centric Parts, lead the way with a wide range of new Big Brake Kits (BBK) for production-based racing cars and high performance vehicles. The new StopTech Touring BBKs fulfilled the promise of StopTech performance, quality and patented innovations at an entry level price by pairing single-piece enhanced performance rotors with StopTech's legendary calipers, pads and components. StopTech took a turn into the dirt last year and began providing brakes for a handful of professional off-road racing teams. The popular Trophy Sport line of BBKs was also expanded to cover a full range of performance vehicles.
Perhaps the most noteworthy product news came at the end of the year with the introduction of a complete Centric Parts brake program for fleets. The program includes applications for performance fleet vehicles as well as extended-use fleet vehicles.
The company brought in accolades in 2010 as well. Centric Parts was named the Parts Authority Supplier of the Year plus for the second year in a row earned the Automotive Parts Associates (APA) Branded Vendor of the Year award. The company also landed its record-setting eighth consecutive FMSI Award from the Friction Materials Standards Institute for contributions to the automotive industry. Awards came in on a product level too, with The new StopTech Big Brake Kit for the landmark Honda CR-Z hybrid named the Best Performance Product of 2010 by the Auto International Association (AIA) during AAPEX in Las Vegas.
The sweetest victories may have been the ones earned on the track. StopTech braking systems, Big Brake Kits, and brake components adorned a wider than usual array of successful production-based racing vehicles in 2010. These included race winners in the World Challenge, Time Attack, and Grand-Am series plus victories ranging from 25 Hours of Thunderhill to the Global Tuner Grand Prix.
Power Slot, the performance pision of Centric Parts, even got in on the action. Armed with a Honda Civic Si featuring Power Slot's Power Alloy enhanced rotors, Compass360 Racing battled their way to a second Grand-Am championship in a row.
With 2011 underway, the New Year promises more growth and innovation from the most comprehensive brake program available in the automotive aftermarket.
