STOPTECH INTRODUCES STREET FRIENDLY BIG BRAKE KIT FOR THE HEART-POUDING PORSCHE CARRERA GT
LOS ANGELES (July 2010) - StopTech, a leading manufacturer, supplier and innovator of world class brake components and brake systems for production-based race cars and high performance vehicles on the street and track, has released a front and rear Big Brake Kits for the 2004-2005 Porsche Carrera GT. These kits were previously only available as track-only StopTech Trophy Big Brake Kits.
StopTech Big Brake Kits provide shorter stopping distances, better brake modulation, firmer pedal feel and less brake fade resulting in stronger, more reliable performance on and off the track - something Porsche drivers demand.
The StopTech 2004-2005 Porsche Carrera GT Big Brake Kits come with a pair of slotted or drilled floating directional 380x32 front or rear AeroRotors featuring billet aluminum mounting brackets with stainless steel hubs, DOT-compliant stainless steel braided Teflon brake lines, high performance street pads and forged, high performance, patented, six-piston front or rear ST-60 calipers. The front (part # 83.797.6800.XX) and rear (part # 83.797.0068.XX) StopTech Big Brake kits join StopTech Trophy Big Brake Kits for the Porsche Carrera GT which feature ultra-lightweight racing calipers designed for use only on the track.
Only 1,270 Porsche Carrera GTs have been manufactured with 604 making to the United States for sale. It was about as close as Porsche has come to bringing a pure race car to the street and features visual design elements not copied again on future models.
